Reach Truck
To be able to keep storage areas tidy and to pile up supplies and pallets of goods, a reach truck can be utilized. The reach truck is available in quite a few models: the stand-up reach, double-deep reach and straddle reach.
The simplest type is the stand-up. The truck forks slide beneath the pallet and move it to the right storage location. The forks slide the pallet into position. This type of reach truck is suitable when shelving units are just one pallet in depth.
Ideal for workplaces where the shelving units are deep enough to have two pallets of goods, the double-deep reach truck, which is like the stand-up, is frequently used. This model has telescopic forks designed to put the pallet at the rear of the shelving unit. This eliminates the need to push the pallet back when another pallet needs to go into the same shelving section.
The additional advantage of straddle reaches is that they could both slide under the pallet and grasp the sides too. These are suitable for workplaces where shelving units are accessible in many directions. This particular version is ideal in conditions where goods will not be damaged if the pallet sides are grabbed.
Inside most warehouses, there are usually more than one kind of reach truck. Manufacturing facilities and textile companies use various types of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not difficult to operate and could maximize available storage space while increasing productivity.
