Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by a variety of sources. They could run utilizing gasoline, LP gas or liquid propane, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for many uses. There are several facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled anytime they need. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders that could be changed out when the machine needs to be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you must really be careful so as to avoid possible serious injuries. For example: be certain to put on the appropriate safety equipment like heavy gloves, goggles or safety glasses. Turn off the ignition of the forklift prior to changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed securely. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it will turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never utilize a metal tool or any type of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
